Michael Jacomb
New Nation Party PRESIDENT
Michael Jacomb is a Wellington businessman and entrepreneur in the electricity industry. He and his wife, Trena, have two children, five grandchildren and spend their time between their home in Upper Hutt and the Marlborough Sounds.
After completing his education at St. Patrick’s College in Silverstream, Michael trained and qualified in the electrical industry, specialising his creativity towards power generation. His New Zealand and Australia-based company, Powerland, has provided commercial and industrial power generators to New Zealand and international businesses for more than 40 years.
In response to what Michael deemed critical failures in our economy, he began to focus on a political option to turning around the New Zealand business environment and making it more productive and efficient. He is committed to cutting our unsustainable $83 million per day of national debt. The goal: to reverse the serious situation and be in control of our own destiny.
New Zealand’s electricity sector is under extreme pressure and needs urgent attention. Michael is adamant the price of retail electricity is too high; New Nation will restructure the electricity sector to cut prices for everyone. Michael’s 40+ years’ experience in the electricity generation industry in New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific will help ensure and secure cheaper generation and distribution of electricity to Kiwi homes for at least the next 50 years.
As well as innate, rational knowledge of how to reform electricity generation, Michael is also determined to reducing serious crime and is New Nation’s Law & Order spokesperson.
Michael is not a typical politician, rather someone whose aim is to make a positive difference in the lives of all New Zealanders and to bring true and equal democracy back to our country, for everyone, very much like the fine Swiss system. To achieve that, he is now leading a team of dedicated Kiwis under the New Nation Party banner.
